Subaru has promised that its newly-redesigned Forester SUV will spawn a hybrid variant for 2026, an entire year after the launch of the 2025 gas model. While Subaru has previously offered the Forester as a hybrid in other markets, it will be a first for U.S. customers. Not much else is known about the electrified Forester, except that it will pair its existing boxer engine with a battery and electric motors borrowed from Toyota.
