VinFast can't even straighten out one of its cars, yet they go ahead and––hey, this one's kinda cute. Meet the VF3, VinFast's super tiny new electric SUV that's destined for the U.S. market. While the rapidly-expanding Vietnamese startup has had some detrimental quality issues with its first U.S.-spec model, the VF8, that hasn't stopped it from churning out an onslaught of products. The three-row VF9 is set to launch this year, and showrooms are opening up left and right. So while we were surprised to see this adorable box on wheels break cover as CES 2024, we were simultaneously unsurprised to see yet another model from the brand.

The VF3, which is said to be completely production-ready, brings to mind more than a few hints of the iconic Suzuki Jimny. While the Suzuki is pretty small, the VF3 is a staggering 30.4 inches shorter, measuring just 125.6 inches long, 66.1 inches wide, and 63.8 inches tall. Heck, it's 17 inches shorter than the tiny Fiat 500e, which is also set to reach U.S. shores soon. Considering the size of most SUVs here in America, we wouldn't be surprised if this tiny VinFast became the smallest vehicle on sale in the U.S. today.

With such compact dimensions, the VF3 makes do with a simple design. The most notable detail is the incorporation of VinFast's distinctive V-shaped chrome insignia across the grille and rear tailgate, cutting through the basic headlamps and running just above the minuscule taillights. Plenty of black plastic trim has been slathered onto the bumpers, wheel arches, and rocker panels, contributing to the SUV look. The VF3 also has impressive ground clearance for its size, especially considering the toy-like 16-inch wheels it rides on. Extra style comes in the form of a white two-tone "floating" roof, paired with a shade of vibrant yellow paint.

Our look at the cabin comes in the form of mere sketches, but what we can see is a stylish dashboard that features one 10-inch display mounted behind the steering wheel, with support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The VF3's physical controls are said to reside on the center console, but the sketches don't appear to show one. The SUV has seating for four, and the cargo hold can expand up to 19.4 cubic feet with the second row folded completely flat.

Beyond the VF3's charming looks, VinFast hasn't revealed much else. We have no idea how many motors there are, how large the battery is, or how long it will take to make those inevitable highway passes, but we do know that VinFast is eyeing a range of 125 miles for this SUV. It won't get you far, but neither will any other small EV, so this is nothing more than a city dweller dressed in Jeep's clothing.

We don't know exactly when VinFast plans to launch the VF3 on U.S. shores, but considering the automaker's rushed product timeline, it might not be too long before they begin appearing on our roads. It's been said that the VF3 will dip below the $20,000 mark, which is essential if VinFast wants its sales charts to show some real numbers.
