Yet another 'Last Call' special edition has been announced by Dodge, but this time it's for the V8-powered versions of the Durango SUV. The Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI is the first of a slew of special Durangos that will be introduced throughout the 2024 and 2025 model years, before production of the HEMI V8 officially wraps up at the end of 2024. A new generation of the Durango is due in 2026, and it's been rumored to grow to the size of the Jeep Wagoneer.
The cleverly-named AlcHEMI will be capped at 1,000 units, and it's based on the SRT 392 Premium. It adds no mechanical upgrades, which means it's powered by the same crazy 475-hp 6.4 liter V8 as the other 392 models. With no upgraded specs to speak of, the AlcHEMI adds plenty of special cosmetic touches to set itself apart.
The exclusive details include forged SRT wheels in Satin Black, SRT Brembo brakes with a yellow finish for the calipers, and black badging and exhaust tips. The AlcHEMI also features a unique dual-stripe decal with a black honeycomb pattern, outlined by slivers of bright yellow. There are four available exterior colors––Diamond Black, Destroyer Gray, Vapor Gray, and White Knuckle––with each color gracing 250 vehicles out of the 1,000 planned build slots.
The cabin gets some unique touches as well, with forged carbon fiber trim pieces, yellow and silver contrast stitching, and "392" badging on the steering wheel and seatbacks.
The Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI will begin rolling off the line in April, before dealers begin receiving them in May. Interested buyers will be able to use Dodge's online Horsepower Locator tool to find dealer allocations, and the AlcHEMI will begin at $91,390, which is $3,595 more than the SRT 392 Premium upon which it is based.
