Ever since Volkswagen started selling the Atlas family-hauler, it has been seen all over the streets, being a popular SUV for big families who do not care for a boxy Chevrolet Tahoe.

VW's atlas boasts easy access to the roomy third row, making it easy for families to quickly run into the car. In 2018, many commercials launched starring a big family going on road trips around the country. In this case, one commercial shows how easily the third row can be unveiled to a third row passenger when the family is enjoying the view of the Grand Canyon when a swarm of bees threatens to attack the family, who rushes into the car, two kids quickly climbing into the third row. The huge amount of space has some problems as well. For some, the big hood and huge legroom in the second and third rows, along with decent trunk space and high windows make the Atlas feel like a big bus. Also, the Atlas is not all about towing capacity, it is about getting big families to where they need to be. So do not buy the Atlas thinking you can tow your big boat or trailer, because it would not do very well. Overall, we found the Atlas a great SUV for big families who want to have a car with good looks, as well as a great amount space and storage. Also, if you want to stay up to date with a new Atlas that will not look outdated for about five years, wait a few months for the new 2021 VW Atlas to come on sale.
