There is absolutely no doubt that the 2021 Kia Optima is going to be a total success. First of all, it is completely different inside and out and is beyond nicer than its ordinary-looking predecessor. It is also beyond better. But, this Korean version is more of a sportback than a sedan, and we are bound to get a slightly different version with more of a sedan-like shape and a hybrid version. Kia might even rename the Optima, most likely calling it the K5, which is the Optima's name outside America. Its competitors will be the Mazda6, Honda Accord, and its biggest competition, the Hyundai Sonata, which is also a great car, which also broke free from ordinary design with its own 2020 redesign. The K5/Optima will offer all wheel drive and will also run on a turbocharged 1.6-liter I4.
The interior has a stunning touchscreen and sharp wood and silver chrome trim all over. The K5 offers a GT performance trim in Korea, and will probably offer it when it arrives at showrooms in 2020 or 2021. (By the way, the GT is amazingly handsome...)
From the Z-shape on the headlights to the beautiful trim on the rear bumper, this thing is the coolest sedan EVER. The headlights resemble the Cadenza's styling, which adds more of a personality, just like the chrome line that starts out near the hood and extends to the rear window and wraps around to the other side of the car.
The rear styling is rich and sporty and is a bit inspiring, actually. The new redesign is, for sure, the best yet. Finally, here are the key features of Kia's new midsize sedan:
- Engine: Turbocharged 1.6-liter I4
- Output: 177 Horsepower / 195 Pound-Feet
- Transmission: Eight-Speed Automatic.Speed 0-60 MPH Front-Wheel Drive
- Weight: 3,300 Pounds
- Seating Capacity: Five
