2021 Mini Countryman Refresh Arrives

The Mini Countryman is Mini's cute rock crawler. It now has bold design cues for next year.

It includes sharper headlights, fog lights and intakes, as well as a new grille and union-jack LED taillights.New colors appear in the interior as well. Four trim levels make up the Countryman lineup, which includes the Cooper and Cooper S, which make up the base models, while the John Cooper Works model is the performance version and top trim. The Plug-In Hybrid returns for 2021. It has grown a bit, and is now the first Mini model to grow longer then 13 feet. All trims include standard LED headlights and fog lights. There is a black accent option as well. Two new exterior colors join the bunch: White Silver Metallic and Sage Green Metallic.

The interior holds a standard digital cockpit with an optional 5" color screen. The Mini Connected infotainment system has some new software tweaks. This includes Amazon Alexa, real-time traffic navigation, and the ability to send navigation routes from your phone to the car. There are four engine options: a 1.5 turbo three cylinder, 2.0 liter turbo four cylinder, and a six-speed gas engine/electric motor (for the plug-in hybrid variant).

Pricing has not been mentioned yet, but it will be comparable to the $28,900 base price of the 2020 model. EPA ratings haven't been announced yet either. It could arrive late this summer.
