2022 Genesis GV80 To Add Six Seat Layout

The Genesis GV80 is the first SUV to enter the luxury brand's lineup, carrying their latest design philosophy and luxurious features. The GV80 currently offers five or seven seats, with two rows of seating being the standard layout. For 2022, the GV80 is reportedly introducing a more luxurious 2+2+2 six-seat layout to the options list, giving German rivals more to worry about.

The GV80 seven-seater has just two seats in the third row, and that won't change in the six-seater version. In fact, the third row isn't expected to change at all, unless it receives a few more premium touches to even it out with the other two rows of seating. The second row is in the spotlight here, with spy shots revealing first-row amenities and lavish leather upholstery. In between the two captain's chairs, there is an armrest that would otherwise be seen in a Maybach, and even Hyundai's own Genesis G90. Additionally, there will be a duo of cupholders and a cluster of buttons in front of the leather armrest. There is also a rear entertainment system mounted on on the back of both front seats, explaining the center controls.

The image also reveals that the screens are adjustable, with the system on the left pointed upward, and the other facing down. The second-row occupants will be able to manage as much features as the driver, as the remaining controls are probably for the climate and seats. We do know for sure that the second row occupants of the six seater variant will receive heated and ventilated seats, wireless charging ports, and adjustable backrests.

As for the other GV80 configurations, new interior color options, a new navigation system with AR, and an updated head-up display will be gained for the 2022 model year. Expect 2022 GV80 models to launch and head to dealers by the third quarter of this year.
