Just over 1,000 Cadenza's sold last year, so no wonder Kia discontinued it in the US. Meanwhile, they are preparing the Cadenza's replacement for foreign markets, the K8. The name used to be K7 in Asia, but the new K8 nameplate represents a switch to the premium sedan market. Not only that, but the K8 is the first Kia vehicle to receive Kia's updated logo and design direction. We are just concerned that the increasing number of alphanumerical names will lead Kia to drop their other great names.
The new beautiful new design won't be a winner for everyone, but we are sold. It features a frameless diamond-style tiger nose grille, which carries over to the all-new LED light signatures. The fastback roofline emphasizes the new sheetmetal and follows the lead of other new sedans. A small ducktail spoiler lies above the connected rear light bar, which features a jagged design, connected to Genesis-like chrome accents.
Along with the bold exterior will be a "first-class" interior, which hasn't been revealed yet. Once again this is just a preview, so we only have three images. The K8 should retain its front-wheel drive setup.
