The Cadillac Lyriq is a highly anticipated vehicle for GM fans, introducing Cadillac's bold electric future. The vehicle is nothing like any Cadillac we've seen before. It features an illuminated closed-off black crystal grille, thin headlights, bright fog lights, bold taillights, and a coupe-like silhouette.

While the front 3/4 of the car is head-turning with its bold design, the rear end isn't a favorite. Cadillac has had better taillights, so let's hope that those change for the production version (this model is a 'show car', so not everything will carry over to production).

The amazing interior resembles the Escalade, with the curved 3 foot long LED infotainment display. It holds Cadillac's latest, greatest safety, entertainment, and technology features, such as Super Cruise, augmented reality head-up display, advanced road noise cancellation system, 19-speaker AKG Studio sound system and supervised remote parking. Cadillac boasts that it can display a billion colors, thanks to the fact that it has the highest pixel density ever. Behind the luxurious front seats, rear passengers can enjoy large entertainment screens, a growing feature in all luxury vehicles. The Lyriq carries a range of over 300 miles.

The Lyriq also runs on GM's new modular EV platform, which will underpin all of their EVs. GM states that the placement of the battery ensures 50/50 weight distribution and a low center of gravity. Performance specifications weren't announced, but Cadillac did say that it has a drive motor that powers the rear wheels, and other models have a second front motor and AWD. An Ultium battery distributes 100 kWh of energy, using DC fast-charging system, a charge rate of 150 kW or above. Level 2 charging carries up to 19 kW.

"Led by Lyriq, Cadillac will redefine American luxury over the next decade with a new portfolio of transformative EVs," said GM of North America's executive president/vice president.
