2023 Nissan Z Costs Less Than A Toyota Supra, Starts At $39,990

When it arrives this summer, the Nissan Z will face a tough competitor from Toyota that its 370Z predecessor never could have dreamed of. The Japanese automaker even added a manual transmission to the Supra for 2023, which takes away one of the Z's advantages over its main rival. However, Nissan has decided to fight back by revealing the new Z's official pricing. The charts show a starting MSRP of $39,990, which massively undercuts the Supra's $43,540 price tag.

This low starting price applies to the base Sport trim, which includes an 8-way adjustable driver's seat, a 4-way adjustable passenger's seat, automatic temperature control, a 6-speaker sound system, a customizable 12.3-inch TFT digital gauge display, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, just to name a few. Upgrading to the Performance trim level will raise the price to $49,990, which gives you a larger 9-inch screen, an 8-speaker Bose sound system with active noise cancellation, leather upholstery, heated seats with power adjustability, and numerous performance upgrades. For $52,990, you can snatch up the Proto Spec limited edition, which further lengthens the list of standard features and boasts unique design touches inspired by the 2020 Z Proto concept. Only 240 units of the Proto Spec will be made.

All 2023 Nissan Z's have a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 under the hood, producing 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. A traditional 6-speed manual gearbox comes standard on all Z trims, but buyers can also go for a 9-speed automatic at no additional cost. Nissan's latest "attainable dream car" will hit dealers this summer.
