2024 Kia Seltos Debuts In LA With Styling Revisions, More Tech

The Kia Seltos crossover gets a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year, with tweaks to the exterior, more tech, and 20 additional horsepower.

The revamped styling starts with three new exterior colors, including a vibrant new shade of Pluton Blue, as well as Valais Green and Fusion Black. Up front, the tiger nose grille has been enlarged to make the vehicle appear wider, and features optional Star Map signature lighting. The grille is flanked by familiar-looking headlights, which feature redesigned daytime running lights. The front bumper has been cleaned up with a simplified fog light design. Meanwhile, the skid plate has a more rugged look with fewer chrome elements. The rear boasts much more noticeable changes, including new vertical taillights with an LED light bar spanning the width of the rear, as well as sharper rear bumper elements. New geometric wheel designs on the LX, S, EX, and SX trims round out the exterior changes.

The interior receives a modern overhaul with dual 10.25-inch screens for the digital gauges and infotainment display. For the entry-level models, there's a new 4.2-inch instrument cluster. The Seltos also gains new dash trim to match the styling revisions applied to the exterior.

The Seltos is also the latest Kia SUV to receive the X-Line treatment in place of the Nightfall appearance package. X-Line models include an exclusive grille design with a gunmetal finish, bespoke 18-inch wheels, a black roof rack, and X-Line badges.

Performance revisions aren't usually part of the deal with vehicle refreshes, but that's not the case for the 2024 Seltos. Kia has given the crossover's base 1.6 liter four-cylinder some tweaks, making for a more spirited driving demeanor and adding 20 more horsepower, bringing total output to 195 horsepower. The more powerful 2.0 liter four-cylinder goes on unchanged, making 146 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque.

The trim lineup still consists of the LX, S, EX, and SX, but there are several additional features. There are now four USB ports (two in front, two in rear), and the SX Sunroof Package now includes a power liftgate and ventilated front seats. New Kia Connect features include Digital Key 2 and over-the-air updates for the maps and infotainment.
