The Ford EcoSport is supposed to be Ford's subcompact crossover, but it doesn't seem to be the best competitor. Europe, however, gets the way better Puma crossover instead. Ford states that, sadly, the Puma will ever make it the US shores. Why is the Puma better? Here's why:
(1: The Athletic Design

The Puma is one of the best-looking crossovers out there, and it would knock GM out of the park. The wide fenders, sporty front and rear fascias, and even the bumpers are gorgeous. We love the taillights. Meanwhile, the EcoSport is old at this point, and doesn't look like a conventional crossover.
(2: The Sporty ST Variant

The EcoSport does get a subtle ST-Line variant in other markets, but not here. the Puma ST is the perfect replacement for the legendary Focus and Fiesta ST hot hatchbacks. The 1.0-liter mild-hybrid turbocharged EcoBoost three-cylinder engine may sound small, but the six-speed transmission borrowed from the Fiesta makes up for it.
(3: The More Luxurious Interior

Honestly, the EcoSport and Puma have almost identical interiors, but the Puma is newer, so of course it has newer infotainment software, as well as slight touches here and there that make it more luxurious and comfortable.
(4: Great Ride Quality

The Puma apparently is a great daily driver, as well as performance vehicle, thanks to the sport suspension and good steering and chassis work.
(5: Feels Special

The Puma feels like it stands out next to offerings from Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, and Opel. It also is one of a kind with the amazing ST variant.
