Nissan's only way of solving their financial troubles is to cut costs. That contributes to new and redesigned models like the 2021 Rogue, Pathfinder, and Frontier, as well as the new Ariya EV. Nissan has hinted at the discontinuation of several of their models, but so far, three were confirmed. Those models are the NV Cargo van, NV Passenger van, and the NV200 compact van.
The automaker's new Nissan Business Advantage plan tries to include an option for every customer, while cutting the lineup down to the best-sellers. The NV lineup has suffered from a lack of upgrades (it has stood unchanged since ) and slow sales. At this point, buyers find the Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, GMC Savana, and Mercedes Sprinter more appealing.
Nissan is confident that their current models are fitting replacements for commercial buyers, such as the Frontier and Titan pickups, Pathfinder SUV, and Rogue crossover. So, NV owners that hope to purchase another have to hurry; otherwise they'll have to turn to Ford, GM, Ram, or Mercedes.
Even after the Nissan van trio is gone, Nissan still has a lot of models on their hands. We would expect that the Maxima, Versa, or Titan could be next.
