Alfa Romeo Giulia And Stelvio Get Considerable 2022 Upgrades

The departure of the 4C coupe and convertible in 2020 left Alfa Romeo with two models, the Giulia sedan and Stelvio crossover. While that's about to change with a new SUV called the Tonale, the Italian automaker is trying harder to appeal to more customers next year. More standard technology and a new trim level rounds up these 2022 updates.

The Giulia performance sedan has added a new Veloce trim level to replace last year's Ti Sport, and it is positioned below the 505-hp Quadrifoglio. Tons of features are marked as standard for 2022, such as an air quality system, front and rear heated seats, integrated navigation, and auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a wireless charging port. Aluminum sport pedals and a darkened headliner are offered as well. More driver assistance tech is now standard too, including adaptive cruise control, an active blind spot monitor, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. The Giulia now wears adaptive 35W bi-xenon headlights, as well as dark exterior trim to mimic the sportier Quadrifoglio. Additionally, the Ti and Veloce trims now include cargo nets and grocery hooks in the trunk, and aluminum paddle shifters have expanded to be included in the Sprint and Veloce.

As for the Stelvio, most of the upgrades for the Giulia are found here as well. But, the compact crossover has also added dark exhaust tips, roof rails, and a skid plate as standard equipment. The powertrain options for both models remain unchanged, and the limited-edition GTA high-performance model is now sold out. The Quadrifoglio performance variants received big changes last year, so 2022 doesn't see anything new. Obviously, pricing has been bumped up for the Giulia and Stelvio, but not by too much. The Giulia now starts at $44,445 with destination charges, while the Stelvio now costs $46,645.
