Automakers Shut Down Factories Due To COVID-19

Several automakers are temporarily shutting down plants, especially in Italy and the US, until late March at the earliest.

Ford is one, keeping workers home for a while.

Ferrari and Lamborghini were the first brands to shut down factories in Italy until around March 25th.

Also, Fiat Chrysler shut down factories in America and Italy, were the Jeep Renegade, Jeep Compass, Fiat 500X, and Chrysler Pacifica are manufactured.

Volkswagen and Porsche decided to temporarily close down their factories in Germany.

Also, Rolls Royce has made the decision to shut down UK factories.

Not only are factories closing all over the place, but there are also delays to auto shows, and vehicle debuts. McLaren is hosting their own show, after Geneva canceled their show, and manufactures went scrambling to find out how they will introduce their latest projects, and Volkswagen, BMW, Kia, Genesis, Audi, and several others made the choice to debut their vehicles online. The Hyundai Elantra's debut event in Hollywood was live-streamed from an empty studio. New York postponed their show until August. All of this mixed up craziness will likely cease next month, after plants start opening again.
