Cadillac has shared images of a new Celestiq prototype undergoing its first engineering drive. The electric flagship is seen cruising around the GM Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, where it will eventually be built.
The prototype wears blue and white camouflage covered in Cadillac logos, in an attempt to throw off onlookers. Like the Lyriq, the production Celestiq should stay very close to the styling seen on the concept when it arrives for the 2025 model year. The only notable change is the addition of side-view mirrors. We can see that the Celestiq has a very large presence on the road, even with its placeholder lights and other pre-production parts. This should allow for plenty of room inside the opulent cabin, and more than enough cargo space behind the seats.
Cadillac will launch the Celestiq as a 2025 model year vehicle, but we still don't know when buyers will be able reserve their hand-built, all-electric liftback, or when deliveries start. We do know that production will be limited to low numbers, in order to keep the Celestiq exclusive.
The next Cadillac flagship won't come cheap, with a starting price tag of around $300,000. This lofty price range will be attracting buyers from Rolls-Royce and Bentley, so the Celestiq will be highly customizable. Cadillac will also be collaborating with customers as they spec their cars, creating an experience akin to what the other ultra-luxury automakers offer.
Do you think Cadillac will be able to pull it off in $300K territory?
