Ford recently put the new 2021 F-150 truck onto dealer lots, but the 14th generation F-150 isn't done with its reveals and teasers yet. Besides the gas-guzzling Raptor, Ford still hasn't revealed their electric variant of the popular truck. Although the big event isn't happening anytime soon, we now have the new model's name: E-150.
Ford has used the E-150 name before. In fact, the E Series vans that were replaced by the Transit lineup in 2014 included the E-150. The name makes a lot of sense for an electric F-150, but Ford just has to push the E Series vans out of people's minds. The 2022 E-150 will compete with the sudden explosion of electric pickups, like the Rivian R1T, GMC Hummer, Altis XT, and Lordstown Endurance. Ford's electric truck should be the Blue Oval's third full-on EV so far, unless there is a secret model coming before then.
A shadowy teaser hints at the E-150's face, and according to the image, there should be a full LED light bar across the front with a more square-shaped mesh grille. That should be enough to distinguish it from the F-150. The Ford E-150 is set to be fully revealed in the middle of 2022, so set your sights on the upcoming Raptor for now.
