Ford Adds Eruption Green Exterior Color For 2022 Bronco

As expected, the Ford Bronco proved to be a big hit in its first model year, and it's already time for the revived off-roader to enter its second model year. Ford announced earlier this month that Antimatter Blue, Velocity Blue, and Rapid Red will not be offered on the Bronco for 2022. The first of three new colors for 2022, Eruption Green Metallic, has been previewed along with the announcement of what the other new color options will be.

Eruption Green takes inspiration from the original Bronco's Mallard Green exterior color option, and Ford says that Eruption Green was developed because it was demanded by enthusiasts. "Automotive enthusiasts, and especially Bronco fans, are passionate about colors and will be excited about Eruption Green," said Ford's color and materials manager, Barb Whalen. She also mentioned that Eruption Green was inspired by nature, particularly evergreen trees.

Ford showed off the 2022 Bronco in both Eruption Green and Hot Pepper Red Metallic at the Woodward Dream Cruise alongside the first-generation model. Cyber Orange is apparently another new color for 2022, though we have yet to see images of it. The new colors will be available on all Bronco trim levels, and 2022 model year order books are slated to open later this year. Ford reassures those who still want Antimatter Blue, Rapid Red and Velocity Blue, as the trio of colors will remain available until the end of the 2021 model year.
