Ford Commemorates Original Bronco With New Heritage Editions

If you ever wanted your new-age Bronco to match the original 1966 model, Ford now has the solution. Available for the 2023 model year, a new Heritage Edition trim has been added to the two- and four-door Bronco and Bronco Sport lineups as a tribute to the original off-roader. Only 1,966 examples will be produced to celebrate the Bronco's initial launch in 1966.

Built on the Big Bend trim, the Heritage Edition adds visual upgrades to resemble the Broncos of yesteryear, including two-tone exterior paint with Oxford White details. This classic shade of white is applied to the roof, grille, and 17-inch wheels. The Bronco lettering on the grille has been removed, with red Ford lettering taking its place. The fenders have also been revised with a new squared shape akin to the original. The Heritage Edition also adds a few standard features, including a powder-coated steel bumper equipped with recovery points and fog lights. Opting for the Heritage Limited trades in the vintage white wheels for a set of gloss black ones with the 1966 model's "dog dish" centers, and adds more Bronco badges along with different seating materials.

Despite being a much newer model, the Escape-based Bronco Sport isn't missing out on the Heritage Edition treatment. The Bronco Sport Heritage is based on the Big Bend trim, and receives all of the regular Bronco's classic Oxford White design touches on the roof and grille. The only difference in styling is a red Bronco badge on the grille instead of the 2- and 4-door's exclusive Ford lettering.

Ride height has been raised with the vehicle's HOSS system, and the front struts and springs have been tweaked for quieter, smoother off-road performance. The Bronco Sport Heritage Limited Edition adds bigger 29-inch all-terrain tires, an upgraded 2.0 liter EcoBoost, and leather upholstery with Oxford White door trim in the cabin. The Bronco Sport Heritage is available in seven colors, with the Heritage Limited offering just three paint options.
