The Infiniti Q60 coupe was first unveiled at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show as a replacement for the brand's G Series two-doors. Despite looking great and being closely related to the Nissan 370Z sports car, the Q60's sluggish driving manners and outdated interior had it lagging behind competitors.

After just five years of being on sale, Infiniti has told Car and Driver that Q60 production will come to a close after the 2022 model year, though dealers should still have a decent amount of supply left over going into 2023. The Japanese automaker explained that the decision to drop the Q60 was fueled by the ever-increasing demand for SUVs.
"We are focusing on the most popular luxury automotive segments such as crossovers and SUVs, as well as the upcoming EV we recently announced that will be built here in the US," an Infiniti spokesperson said to Car and Driver.

The Q60 is the second model that Nissan has announced it would be killing off, after announcing just last week that the Maxima sedan is going away in 2023. That said, other slow-selling models like the Infiniti Q50 sedan might not be far behind, as the luxury brand shifts its focus to EVs and crossovers.
