The star of Lexus's 2022 Monterey Car Week display will be its sleek Electrified Sport Concept, last shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Its debut at Pebble Beach will represent its first appearance on US shores.
The Electrified Sport Concept was one of many fully electric concept cars shown by Toyota and Lexus, and was arguably the most intriguing. Rumors surrounding its alleged production version have been circulating in recent months, with the latest saying that it will have an artificial manual transmission. It's expected to be electric, after all. Other reports say that there will be two LFA successors, with one being the aforementioned EV variant, and the other packing a hybridized twin-turbo V8 under the hood. Neither offering will ever be as good as the LFA's legendary V10, however.
The Electrified Sport will make its initial appearance on August 18th, as the main attraction on Lexus's Pebble Beach Golf Links display. It will be accompanied by several other remarkable models from the automaker, including the RZ 450e, RX 500h F Sport Performance, LC 500 Convertible, IS 500, and and Lexus Racing RC Cup Car. Lexus will also offer test drives for the entire LC lineup, as well as the LX 600, RC F, IS 500, NX 350, and NX 450h+.
The concept will also be shown at the prestigious The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering from August 19-21, alongside several other unique performance vehicles from the brand. On Friday the 19th, a group of Lexus executives will be holding a short conversation concerning the brand's electrification strategy for its performance cars.
Do you think the Electrified Sport Concept will translate into a fitting LFA successor?
