Maserati MC20 Cielo Looks Sharp At The Quail

Writer: TurbochargedTurbocharged

The Maserati MC20 Cielo has arrived in North America, with its first public appearance at Monterey Car Week. Maserati revealed the US-spec droptop at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on Friday as part of a special ceremony with its VIP guests and the media. The Cielo is on display in Monterey alongside the MC20 coupe and the Grecale Trofeo crossover.

Maserati first unveiled the MC20 Cielo in May, using the coupe version's 3.0 liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6 to deliver 621 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque. The Nettuno V6 is the first powertrain in years to be developed in-house by Maserati, since the brand used to share its engines with Ferrari. The Cielo's most unique feature is its retractable glass roof, which can switch from clear to opaque at the push of a button. Of course, the panel can be removed for a true open-air experience.

The next new MC20 variant will be a fully electric version, expected to arrive around the middle of the decade. It will adopt the Folgore moniker, which will be used for all Maserati EVs in the future.

Would you take the Cielo, or the standard MC20 coupe?
