McLaren has recently announced a hybrid supercar that will join the Ultimate Series Lineup, and stated that they are approaching hybrids, but EV's are not coming any time soon. It will be called the Speedster, and looks like a convertible version of the Speedtail. We do not have many spy shots or anything like that, so here is a teaser:
Also coming is a new McLaren Speedtail reportedly coming with a hybrid V6. It looks very cool. It might just be a separate model, otherwise the Speedtail is becoming a hybrid altogether. It is also currently McLaren's fastest car with a top speed of 403 km/h.
That is all the news about McLaren hybrids, but there was another model that was recently revealed. The facelifted 720S was revealed online, and was meant to be revealed in Geneva. It will also be shown at the first annual McLaren Motor Show. It seems more race-oriented, with black trim around the tires. It sounds like it is faster and smarter. The previous 720S looked cleaner, but this one is also great. This one below shows the new sharp edges of the convertible trim, and the hardcore carbon trim with the spoiler gives it an intense design.
We love McLaren's hybrid plans, but we hope an EV arrives in the near future.
