This isn't a surprising move. McLaren must keep up with competition, so that leads to the ultra-luxury SUV segment, which consists of the Porsche Cayenne and Macan, Bentley Bentayga, Aston Martin DBX, Rolls Royce Cullinan, and Lamborghini Urus. Ferrari is working on an SUV called the Purosangue, and Alfa Romeo is working on the Tonale SUV.
Obviously, it will be called the GTX, and so far seems to be an SUV variant of the GT supercar. The headlights and taillights relate to it. The coupe-like shape is sure to stand out. It will likely be a compact or midsize SUV. We aren't sure exactly where or when the GTX will debut, but because of current circumstances, it has a high chance of being revealed online via live-stream.
This is an exciting moment for McLaren. The upcoming GTX is definitely going to be a sales-booster.
