Mercedes' 2021-2023 product planner has leaked online, and now we know that long-awaited models such as the next-generation C-Class sedan and first-ever EQS electric flagship are not so far away. But, a few new models haven't been discussed to the general public yet. Mercedes is set to launch two small models by 2023. Yes, the A-Class, CLA, GLA, and GLB aren't going to be the only ones.
The planner reveals that a city car called the 'A City' will arrive around 2022, measuring below the A-Class sedan/hatch in size. It should be the production version of the 2017 EQA concept car. If that is indeed true, the A City will have two or three doors and a coupe-like profile. We also expect the A City to be an EV, because why not? But sadly, since the A-Class hatchback isn't available in the US, don't get too excited.
The next city dweller coming from Mercedes is the 'A Adventure', which will be a more rugged version of the A City, with roof rails and black cladding around the bumpers and wheel wells. Kind of like the Subaru Crosstrek's relationship with the Impreza. It will accompany the smallest crossover from Mercedes, the GLA. Because of its crossover style, we are betting on this coming here rather than the A City.
Since Mercedes hasn't said anything about these models yet, we are guessing most of their features and powertrains. Like we stated before, they will arrive around 2022, slotting right below the A-Class. The leaked product planner also reveals that Mercedes is planning a CLS facelift for this year, so we should hear a lot more from the luxury automaker in the near future.
