New Kia Optima Will Not Be Called Optima

We've always liked the name 'Optima', but Kia's overseas models go by K7, K5, K9, etc. The 2021 Optima has been spied in California looking sharp, but it is wearing the K5 badge. Well, is it going to be called K5? Kia is good with names, but what if they bring the K7 and K9 names to America? That'll be boring. The next generation Cadenza could arrive as K7. So, the Optima is now the K5.

It's good looks don't match the (boring) name. It's kind of sad, but we must move on. We knew this would happen ever since Kia filed trademark for K5 worldwide.

Look at the bright side; Kia hasn't confirmed anything about the K5 name yet, but expect it to be the K5.
