Honda recently revealed the new Ridgeline, and it was a happy surprise. Why? Because it's more truck-like. Pickups and SUVs are generally more attractive when they look tough. For example, the Toyota RAV4 was given a rugged redesign in 2018, and it increased sales. Honda wants to mimic that by giving the Pilot, CR-V and Passport crossovers the same treatment as the 2021 Ridgeline pickup.
The current Pilot was released in 2016 and was refreshed in 2019. A redesign could be coming in the next few years, and capability and style that echoes it could be the center of Honda's attention. The same could go for the Passport, but it would be a facelift. A light one too, since it already seems to be off-road centered, and it came out in 2018.
The CR-V isn't excluded, but it was given a big facelift this year. That means we won't see any big changes, at least a rugged refresh, until 2023 at the earliest. For the Pilot, Passport, and CR-V, we could see a larger, rectangular grille, sharper headlights and taillights, updated interiors, and revised bumpers. This gave the Ridgeline a meaner look, so we expect the same on the Pilot, Passport, and CR-V crossovers.
