Pininfarina Battista Supercar Makes An Early Debut In California

Pebble Beach in California sees some of the most prestigious performance vehicles make their public debut, especially in August, when major events like Monterey Car Week and Concours d'Elegance kick off. The former is happening this week, and will introduce several new supercars like the Acura NSX Type R and Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider. One of those new cars has been unveiled slightly early in a dramatic video; the production-spec Pininfarina Battista EV.

The Battista has been bouncing around in prototype form for a few years now, but Automobili Pininfarina has finally revealed the version that customers will receive, and it looks great. It will primarily compete with the Rimac Nevera released last month, since the electric supercar segment is practically brand new. Some key design features for this Battista include carbon fiber bodywork, polished and forged aluminum alloy rims, and 128 million different color combinations available. Inside, you'll find black leather Pilota seats surrounded by Blu Alcantara quilted upholstery. The passengers will also get to enjoy an amazing sound system that is "tuned to create an emotional reaction for occupants and onlookers" with a core audio frequency of 54 Hz.

The Pininfarina Battista is underpinned by a 120-kWh battery paired by four electric motors. This monstrous powertrain creates 1,877 horsepower and 1,696 pound-feet of torque. It is clocked at under two seconds for the 0-60 mph run. The Battista asks $2.2 million, so it will be a very exclusive vehicle.

Despite beginning almost a week ago, Pebble Beach car reveals aren't happening until today through August 15th. Expect to see the Pininfarina Battista somewhere within the next few days at Monterey Car Week and at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance later this month. Customer deliveries for this incredible electric hypercar are slated for the end of this year.
