See The New Mercedes EQS On The Road

The Mercedes EQS is the most advanced car from the brand lately, with its Tesla-beating Hyperscreen and luxurious features. The electric flagship sedan has been spotted driving on the highway near Mercedes' Long Beach research and development facility in California, and there are some interesting details that are worth pointing out.

First, this EQS has a silver paint job, rather than the two-tone design that the press photos present, which is good news for those who prefer one color on the exterior of their EQS. There are black rims and bumper trim as well, indicating that this might be one of the lower models of the trim level spectrum. The next feature that stands out is the headlights and taillights. As you can see in the video, the full-width taillights shine brightly in the dark night, and headlights do an even better job. From the rear of this EQS, you can easily notice that the headlights cover a good one or two lanes on the highway. They are also very bright, which is good for the driver, but not exactly for other vehicles.

Arguably the most stand-out feature of all is the gigantic Hyperscreen. As the filmer's vehicle passes the EQS prototype, the infotainment system is easily visible, and very bright. Light blue ambient lighting also takes over the cabin, giving a high-tech look, but all of this could be extremely distracting. Although, the video does point out otherwise. The driver of the car seems to be on the phone, and can be spotted several times with their hands off of the steering wheel. So, the sedan's semi-autonomous system is clearly in action. The 2022 Mercedes EQS looks to be the most advanced contender in its class, and it is exciting to see some on the road already.
