After putting their performance sub-brand to a halt, Volvo decided to give the Polestar name a new image. They began the premium electric brand with the beautiful limited-time Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid coupe. The Polestar 2 electric crossover just joined the lineup. But, as cool as these models are, they borrow Volvo's design language. So, Polestar introduced their own design language with the Polestar Precept online. It was supposed to debut in Geneva.
The Precept's sharp, perfect design attracted enthusiasts like a magnet. So, the Precept grand tourer has been approved for production. "'Stunning. Spectacular. Cutting-edge. We'd like to see it on the road!' - this is what the press wrote about Precept and the public said, 'We want it' so we decided to build it," said CEO Thomas Ingenlath. Development of the production Precept has already begun.
The Precept will follow Polestar's goal of being sustainable, so it will most likely be an EV. It will be built in a brand-new factory. Also, the design will be almost identical to the concept. We don't think the suicide doors will stay, though. The Precept name will carry over, at least for now. Will the Precept's cool design attract as many buyers as possible? We think so.
