Subaru has teased a "new SUV" on its Japanese website, with a debut set for September 15. Along with the vague announcement, the automaker posted a low-resolution teaser video that appears to show a next-generation Crosstrek.
As Motor1 pointed out, the vehicle's overall silhouette resembles the current Crosstrek, with its pointed front end and short wheelbase. The shadowy teasers suggest that the design changes will be evolutionary, as with most new Subaru models. The lighting units appear to be sharper, along with a revised grille and lengthened beltline.
The interior could see some refreshing new tech, with a vertically positioned screen akin to what is found inside the Outback and Legacy. Engines are expected to continue unchanged, and the hybrid variant is also very likely to return. Since the 2023 model has already been released, the redesigned version should arrive for the 2024 model year, assuming that this is indeed the Crosstrek. Regardless, a global reveal is scheduled for September 15.
