The Acura NSX Type S Is Now Sold Out

The Acura NSX Type S made its debut at Monterey Car Week as a last hurrah before the NSX gets discontinued globally. Acura has finally confirmed that, like most other limited edition cars, the US-bound Type S has sold out within a few hours. For anyone who wanted to place an order, it's too late now, as all 300 slots have been taken. The other fifty examples available in Asia, Australia, and Europe haven't been confirmed as sold out just yet.

Back in the US market, there is a waiting list of about 100 latecomers, but it's highly unlikely that the new owners of this supercar will decide to cancel their order. Since the NSX Type S concludes the second-generation model, we won’t be seeing a third generation until at least two years into the future.

This 600-horsepower halo car would cost you $169,500 without the $13,000 lightweight package, but the first NSX Type S to be produced sold at auction to Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick for a hefty $1.1 million. For the record, he also bought the first second-generation NSX ever made back in 2017.

For those who will miss the current NSX, Acura has stated earlier that the next NSX will become fully electric rather than being a hybrid, but that’s all we know so far. So, this special sendoff doesn‘t mean it‘s gone for good.
