The Cadillac CT5 Is The True CTS Successor: Here's Why

Writer: TurbochargedTurbocharged

Comparisons between Cadillac's discontinued CTS (top) and brand new CT5 (bottom) show many similarities. If we called the CT5 'CTS', it would seem like a facelift. Here are the three similarities:

First of all, the CT5 is like a fierce looking CTS. The grilles are exactly the same and the CT5's front-end foglights are a bit bigger than the CTS foglights. Headlight designs haven't changed much.

Now onto the interior.

(CTS: left CT5: right)

The steering wheels are almost exact, while the gearshift areas are literally the same. The only difference is that the CT5 has wood around the gearshift, which is what separates it from its predecessor.

The third comparison is about power. (AKA V-Series!!)

The CTS-V includes a powerful V8 Supercharged 6.2 Liter, while the CT5 has a 4-Cylinder Turbo 2.0 Liter engine. (Info on the CT5-V is not yet available.)

Finally, the winner is the CTS. (Mostly because we have more experience with it than the CT5) You are probably thinking, Wait a second, the CT5 was chosen sedan of the year!"

Well, our response to that statement is the fact that CT5 is new, and no one really owns them yet. They are just starting to arrive at dealer lots. The CTS, however, is a vehicle that some people own, and it is just more experienced with tests. So, anyway, they are similar, and the CTS is the winner! (For now...)
