The New Kia Sorento Is Here

After several leaked images and spy shots, we had an idea of what the 2021 Sorento SUV would look like. But, that doesn't mean it lacks style. In fact, Kia established a true personality for the Sorento, which was not there before. The 2019 refresh helped the Sorento regain a new look, but it started to fall behind the other models when the bigger Telluride arrived. Now, even though it will never get bigger than the Telluride, it's way nicer.

The headlights are more sharp and rectangular, and a silver streak goes from the headlights to the grille, as shown in teaser images. The grille is part of Kia's new design language, and will also show up in the new Kia Sedona minivan. The lower grille is larger and the fog lights are not as major in styling as before. The rear includes a higher, more Land Rover-like roofline. The rear reflectors are not big anymore, but the black streak next to them is. The vertical taillights are cut in half, which is new for Kia. The side window has a silver chrome border that sticks up before reaching the door, which is also a new design cue. The window itself is the same.

Also, weeks before the official reveal, Kia did not succeed in hiding the new Sorento. This leaked image is an example:

The interior is pushed to an all new level. It is outstandingly attractive. The new 10.25" infotainment system makes the Sorento equally luxurious to the Telluride. The new screen is about 2 inches bigger. It is connected to the speedometer area, which is a common trend for new cars like the Audi A7 and the Hyundai Palisade. Below it lies two bold vertical vents, with a display of buttons in between them. Shown below is also a cool new feature: interior lighting! If you look closely at the doors and dashboard, you will see slight blue illuminated lines. The gearshift handle is replaced with a weird disk shaped object.

There will also be a plug in hybrid option.

Here are the key features:

- Price: Not Yet Announced

- Engine: 1.6-liter gasoline engine or 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing

- Seating: Up to 6

- Horsepower: Up to 277 hp

The new Sorento will make its first auto show debut on March 3 in Geneva, and more details, such as pricing, will be announced.
