These Five Cars Are At Risk Of Discontinuation

Writer: TurbochargedTurbocharged

With the rise of EVs, trucks, SUVs, crossovers, plus the new normal, automakers are forced to focus on only what makes many. This phases out many vehicles, which is why we saw so many cars disappear last year. Prepare to say goodbye to these cars.

(1: Nissan Maxima

The Nissan Maxima first started life known as the 'four-door sports car', but lately, Nissan has been struggling, and sales figures for the sedan have been falling behind. Nissan has also announced that they will axe a few vehicles as part of their revival plan, and the Maxima seems like a certain candidate.

(2: Chevrolet Malibu

Chevrolet has been beating around the bush about the Mailbu's demise. The original plan was to redesign it in 2023, but now, apparently, it will get the axe instead. It is Chevy's last sedan, and after seeing 2019, this is very possible.

(3: Fiat 500X and 500L

Fiat has been struggling in the US lately, and the 500X, 500L and 124 Spider are all they have left. Rumor has it that these two models could be replaced by a new SUV called the 500XL. It will mix the duo's styling together into one model. It isn't coming anytime soon, so these cars will stick around for now.

(4: Kia Cadenza

Kia's premium sedan was never a hit in the US, but it is popular in other markets such as Korea, where Hyundai sells the Grandeur sedan. Because of this, Kia is quickly working on a redesign, which reportedly won't make it here. We still don't know, but it would probably be the right move.

(5: Toyota Prius

The Prius is sort of a legend, but that doesn't mean people still buy hybrids. It could be discontinued in the coming decade in favor of an EV. We still don't know much about this, and Toyota hasn't confirmed anything either, so let's just wait and see.
