Back when Toyota's Scion brand was discontinued, several of its models were transferred to the Toyota family. That included the FR-S (now the GT86), IM (now the Corolla Hatchback), and IA, which became known as the Yaris IA. The rebadged Mazda2 has been around for a decent amount of time. But, it is different from what other regions get. Recently, the GR Yaris hot hatch arrived in Asia, and some other markets, leaving the US with the Yaris models below:
Toyota has slightly hinted the possibility of the performance car's US arrival, which is something that would make enthusiasts very, very happy. This would also likely bring the standard Yaris and Yaris Cross to American shores as well.
This news isn't surprising, since we've experienced the demise of many other hatchback/sedan duos such as the Ford Focus and Fiesta, and the Chevy Sonic.
