Update 7/26/23: Toyota has released even more images teasing the new Land Cruiser's details, including the rear tailgate and center console. The latter image suggests that the Land Cruiser will follow the Lexus GX in having a full-time four-wheel drive system.
The revival of the Land Cruiser nameplate in the U.S. is almost here, with Toyota announcing that the big reveal is happening on August 1. The automaker also released a new image that reveals the SUV's boxy front end, which appears to be inspired by the 60-series Land Cruiser model positioned next to it.

The blocky headlights and rugged front bumper seen on the new Land Cruiser echo the style of the 60-series model from the 1980s, making for a retro-modern look that's proven popular with rugged SUVs. Previous images have hinted at a boxy silhouette nearly identical to the more luxurious Lexus GX, which suggests that the two SUVs will have shared underpinnings.

Keep in mind that this SUV is not related to the 300-series Land Cruiser sold in foreign markets, and is actually a smaller model that will be exclusive to North America. In other countries, this vehicle may be sold alongside the standard Land Cruiser under the Prado name, as that model has always been based on previous iterations of the Lexus GX.
