Honda has released its quarter one sales for 2024, and while things are looking up for the Honda brand, Acura has experienced a slight decline compared to a year ago. This is most evident between the Honda Civic and mechanically-related Acura Integra, as Civic sales rose 36%, while Integra sales fell 15.8%.

With 61,929 Civics sold between January and March of this year, the compact sedan was the second best-selling model in the lineup. The CR-V ranked first, with a remarkable 95,038 units sold to represent a 41.3% increase. The Accord sits closely behind both models, with 41,927 units sold to make it the third best-selling model, even despite a 2% increase compared to Q1 2023.

Overall, Honda has recorded a total of 303,451 vehicles sold in the first quarter, which represents a 20.9% increase. Nearly 62,000 of those vehicles were electrified, primarily thanks to new hybrid variants for the Accord and CR-V. They make up as much as 25.5% of Honda's total sales this quarter, which sets a new record. The Civic is soon to join them with a 2025 model year refresh, so we expect hybrids to account for an even greater percentage of Honda's sales in the future.

Acura Sales Take A Tumble

Meanwhile, Acura lags behind in sales this quarter with only 30,373 vehicles sold. This represents a 9.2% decrease, and the only model to see an actual uptick in sales was the RDX crossover, which recorded a notable 48.6% increase with 10,117 units sold. This makes it the the model's best ever Q1 in terms of sales.

As for the rest of the lineup, the Integra has fallen behind the popular Honda Civic with 6,485 units sold––that's 15.8% fewer than a year ago, though it's not nearly as bad as the MDX and TLX, which have experienced sharp downward spirals so far this year. Sales of the TLX are down 29.3% with 2,630 units sold, while MDX sales have dropped 26.8% with 11,141 units sold.

One interesting metric for Acura this quarter was the fact that 12% of Integra buyers chose the high-performance Type S model over the regular version. Take that, Civic Type R.
